Careers at Hollywood Standard

Help us explain what entertainment means—and why it matters.

Hollywood Standard is building a modern publication focused on film, television, streaming, entertainment business, culture, awards, craft, style, society, and the people behind the screen.

We're interested in people who don't simply want to report what happened. We want people who want to understand why it happened—and what it means next.

What We Look For

We're interested in talented people across editorial, creative, production, audience, and digital media.

Writers & Journalists

People who can find the story beneath the obvious story. We're particularly interested in expertise across film, television, streaming, entertainment business, awards, culture, fashion, creative industries, media, and technology.

Editors

Editors who can strengthen reporting, sharpen ideas, improve structure, protect accuracy, and maintain a consistently high editorial standard.

Researchers

Curious researchers who enjoy finding documents, following industry developments, verifying information, and uncovering the details that make stories stronger.

Photographers

Visual storytellers who understand entertainment, portraiture, events, fashion, celebrity, and culture.

Video Producers

Creators who understand how to translate entertainment journalism into compelling digital video for modern audiences.

Designers

Designers interested in editorial experiences across websites, digital publications, social platforms, newsletters, video, and emerging formats.

What Matters Here

Curiosity: ask better questions. Accuracy: get the details right. Originality: bring a perspective rather than repeating the obvious. Clarity: make complicated subjects understandable. Independence: protect the distinction between journalism and commercial interests. Craft: care about the quality of the final work. Integrity: treat sources, subjects, colleagues, and readers with respect.

Hollywood Standard may work with freelance writers, photographers, researchers, critics, and other contributors.

Internships & Early-Career Opportunities

We believe the next generation of entertainment journalists should have meaningful opportunities to learn how modern media works. When opportunities are available, they may involve research, editorial production, social media, video, audience development, or other areas of digital publishing.

Equal Opportunity

Hollywood Standard is committed to a professional environment where people are evaluated on their skills, experience, ideas, and ability to contribute. We value different perspectives because entertainment itself is shaped by people with different experiences, disciplines, and creative viewpoints.
