What is Hollywood Standard?
A digital publication covering film, television, awards, style and the people who make the entertainment industry run. We publish long-form profiles, reported features, interviews and annual lists. More on the About page.
Who writes it?

How often do you publish?

Do you cover gossip?
No. We do not report on anyone's private life, health or finances unless it is a matter of public business, and we do not run speculation as fact.
Reading and subscribing
Does it cost anything?

How do I get it by email?

Will you sell my email address?
No. We use it to send the newsletters you asked for. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
Why do you ask about cookies?
We use analytics to understand which stories are read. Nothing is loaded unless you agree, and the site works whether you agree or not.
Commercial
What is a paid feature?
An article paid for by its subject. It carries a visible Paid feature label above the headline, and any link to a site the subject controls is marked rel=sponsored. Paying does not buy a verdict, does not buy coverage of a competitor, and does not stop us declining the commission if we think the piece would be false. Full rules on the Editorial Standards page.
Can I pay to have an article about me removed or changed?
No. We correct errors for free, and we do not remove accurate reporting for money.
How do I advertise or commission a paid feature?
Through the advertising page. Rates and formats are there.
Working with us
How do I pitch a story?
Send the idea, not the finished piece, through the contact page. Tell us what the story is, why it is a story now, and who you have already spoken to. We reply to pitches we want to commission [within two weeks].
I am a publicist. How do I get my client covered?
Write to us through the contact page with the specifics. We cover people because their work or their business is interesting, and access is not a condition of coverage.
Something in an article is wrong. What do I do?
Use the contact page, include the article URL and say what is wrong. We correct errors on the article itself with a note saying what changed and when. Substantive corrections are never made silently.
Can I republish your work?
No, but you are welcome to quote a short extract with a credit and a link. For syndication or licensing, use the contact page.
