What Hector Muelas's Move to Louis Vuitton Means for Brand Storytelling

Louis Vuitton has created a chief brand creative officer post and filled it from Tiffany & Co. The role puts campaigns, art buying and content production under one executive.

Louis Vuitton has named Hector Muelas its first chief brand creative officer, a newly created position that takes effect Nov. 1, 2026. Muelas comes from Tiffany & Co., another LVMH house, where he has been global chief brand and creative officer since August 2023.

The post covers how the brand tells its story across campaigns, content and art buying. It places campaigns, art buying and content production under a single executive who reports to the house's deputy chief executive.

What Louis Vuitton Announced

The appointment was posted Oct. 23, 2026. Louis Vuitton said Muelas will "define and steer" the house's creative storytelling across all touch points and ensure strong overall image consistency.

WWD reported the hire on the same date, and Louis Vuitton confirmed it. The position is new.

Muelas reports to Damien Bertrand, Louis Vuitton's deputy chief executive. In the announcement, Bertrand said Muelas will lead creative and content execution and will work with business units, regions and creative talent to raise the brand's desirability.

Bertrand also framed the goal as keeping Louis Vuitton a benchmark for cultural resonance, creative boldness and emotional connection with clients.

WWD reported that the announcement credits Muelas with more than two decades of international experience in culture, storytelling and brand building.

A Career Built Inside LVMH Brands

Muelas joined LVMH in 2015 as global vice president of content and creative at Rimowa. He later became its chief brand officer. The announcement says he led the brand's global relaunch and repositioning.

He moved to Tiffany in August 2023 as global chief brand and creative officer. The announcement credits him with a transformative role in redefining the jeweler's creative voice and driving its cultural resonance worldwide.

His LinkedIn profile, as cited by WWD, lists earlier work at Apple, Vice Media and Canal+.

Before that, he held creative and executive positions at Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles and at Wieden + Kennedy in Amsterdam.

The move is within the group. Rimowa, Tiffany and Louis Vuitton are all LVMH houses, and the appointment takes him from the second of those to the third.

What a Chief Brand Creative Officer Controls

Muelas will oversee all brand campaigns. Two existing teams move into his organization: the art buying team, led by Magena Chansarel, and the content factory team, led by Carole Fuchs.

The new post puts campaigns, art buying and content production under one executive. Louis Vuitton said Muelas will ensure strong overall image consistency across all touch points.

Bertrand said Muelas will work in close collaboration with the business units, the regions and the creative talents.

LVMH's third-quarter release credits ready-to-wear collections designed by Nicolas Ghesquière and men's collections designed by Pharrell Williams with good momentum at Louis Vuitton.

The release also points to unique in-store experiences and new travel-inspired locations at the house, exemplified by LV The Place Seoul.

The Tiffany Campaigns That Came Before

Tiffany ran campaigns with Beyoncé before Muelas arrived. In April 2021, the jeweler launched "About Love" with Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

The campaign's film was directed by Emmanuel Adjei. It features a musical performance of "Moon River," reimagined with Beyoncé's vocals.

Tiffany followed with "Lose Yourself in Love," featuring Beyoncé. Jewellery World describes it as a homage to the joy of being one's unapologetic self. She models iconic and new Tiffany collections, and a custom Tiffany HardWear necklace was made specially for her.

Both campaigns preceded Muelas's August 2023 start at Tiffany. His appointment moves him from the house that ran them to Louis Vuitton.

“The new post puts campaigns, art buying and content production under one executive.”

The Commercial Backdrop at LVMH

LVMH reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of €18,504 million, up 1% organically from €18,280 million a year earlier. Organic growth was 1% in the first quarter and 3% in the second.

For the nine months, revenue was €57,148 million, up 2% organically and down 2% as reported. The comparable figure for the first nine months of 2025 was €58,090 million. LVMH said currency effects reduced reported revenue by 3% and changes in scope by 1%.

Fashion and leather goods, the division that includes Louis Vuitton, recorded €8,245 million in the quarter, down 5% organically. The year-earlier figure was €8,497 million.

Nine-month revenue for the division was €26,391 million, down 2% organically and 4% as reported, against €27,611 million a year earlier.

LVMH said the division benefited from the U.S. market but was hurt in the third quarter by weaker demand in China. The group said the United States, Europe and Japan saw good growth in the quarter, while China was less buoyant.

The group highlighted Christian Dior and Loro Piana for strong performances within the division. It did not break out Louis Vuitton's own sales. It marked the 130th anniversary of the Monogram with a new jacquard weave, the Monogram Emblème.

Watches and jewelry, which includes Tiffany, grew 6% organically in the quarter to €2,500 million, against €2,319 million a year earlier. Organic growth in that division was 7% in the first quarter and 11% in the second. Over nine months it grew 8% organically to €7,725 million, up 4% as reported.

LVMH said the growth came mainly from jewelry. It said Tiffany continued to strengthen lines such as HardWear, Knot and Sixteen Stone and renovate its store network. Its Blue Book 2026: Hidden Garden high jewelry collection debuted in New York and was presented in Venice.

Looking ahead, the group said that despite an uncertain economic and geopolitical environment it remains confident. It named making its brands more desirable, product authenticity and quality, retail excellence and an agile organization as priorities.

What Has Not Been Announced

Louis Vuitton has not said why the role was created now. The announcement describes the aim in terms of consistency, desirability and cultural resonance

The reports reviewed do not name a successor at Tiffany. Muelas starts at Louis Vuitton on Nov. 1.
